Lords Hotel, 3 star
For my fifth anniversary with my wife, I wanted to take her someplace neither of us had ever been. So I booked us in a hotel in Dubai - when we showed up, they were booked through and had to put us up someplace else. I wasn't happy about it, but it may have been a blessing in disguise. We ended up going tot he Lords Hotel, and while it's not a luxury hotel, it's a great value. They were friendly and accommodating, and genuinely happy it seemed that we dropped into their hands. They didn't disappoint us, and we'll be seriously considering them for a return trip next year.
